Reflecting on a Year of Celebration

December closed out a year-long festivity, as we celebrated 40 years of service for Lofton Staffing & Security. Corporate staff traveled to each branch office, 12 in total, to help commemorate 40 years of putting people to work with the local Lofton crew. Invitations were mailed and announcements were posted on various social media platforms to our clients, partners, local officials, friends, and of course, our many assignment employees and officers in hopes that we would have a good turnout. The night before we held our breaths. What if no one showed? 

As I reflect on an incredible year of rejoicing with our co-workers, employees and clients, I am filled with a sense of humility and awe.  Sandra Hughes and myself ventured off on the road to assist the branch managers with the various details with party planning.  As we visited each branch office, I was able to witness numerous employees personally thank Lofton for changing their lives.  I met security officers who have been with Lofton longer than my 14 years, and spoke with clients who know our Lofton Managers on a personal level.  Still others expressed their belief that Lofton is more than merely a staffing or security provider, but rather a true partner in making a difference for their company.

In 1979, our founder, Tommy Lofton, left his HR position at a large chemical company to begin the journey of creating something special in the staffing industry.  After 40 years, his unique “servant leadership” is still strong in the managers, staff and most of all in his two sons, Bret and Bart Lofton. Tommy Lofton envisioned a culture beyond the basic employment placement process.  He created a place where we felt empowered in serving others – by filling a need, not just filling an open spot. “When we help others, we help ourselves” is more than a core belief, but a driving force that changes the way people feel when they leave Lofton.   

So much has changed over the past 40 years, but our conviction to serve others has not.  We are still focused on providing qualified employees and officers to our clients.  We still answer our phones personally.  We are still committed to providing superior service to our clients and employees and it shows – in the longevity of our staff and the award-winning service we provide every single day. What we do matters! How people feel when they leave Lofton, and what our clients expect from us matters! We are better together and will continue to do what we do best – making a difference in people’s lives through employment.
